Blog #3: Reflection on Using a Digital Writer’s Notebook              Using a digital writer’s notebook was a meaningful experience that helped me think about my writing process in new ways. In many ways, it felt similar to writing the traditional way. I was still able to brainstorm freely, capture ideas quickly, reflect on my thoughts, and return to earlier entries to revise or expand them. The sense of personal space, a place where my voice, feelings, and creative thoughts could unfold, was also the same. Just like a handwritten notebook, the digital version became a space for growth, discovery, and honest expression. However, the process was also very different. The digital notebook offered tools that a physical notebook cannot.     It afforded the ability to reorganize ideas easily, type quickly, add images and links especially while using Canva and edit without leaving marks behind. I was able to store many drafts in one place...

Blog #2: My Digital Notebook

Blog #2: Reflecting on writing using the electronic environment ( Digital Media) Using a digital notebook has transformed the way I organize my work. Unlike traditional pen-and-paper journaling, the digital notebook gave me a flexible space where I can write, revise, store, and revisit my thoughts with ease. The ability to type quickly, insert images, links, and videos by using Canva helped me keep my ideas clear and organized. One of the biggest advantages to using the digital notebook is accessibility.   My notes were readily available on any device, which made it easier to continue the writing process at any moment of inspiration.   Writing using the electronic environment has made writing much easier and faster for me.   This has changed the way I approach writing.   The use of digital tools such as Microsoft office, emails, text messages or social media platforms like tweeter has helped make the writing process more flexible and even more interactive than the traditional pen and paper method of writing.   I have benefitted from the ease of editing and revising written pieces without having to rewrite an entire document when using the electronic environment.     Digital tools can check for spelling and grammatical errors which helps me create more professional pieces if the need arises, while simultaneously helping me improve language accuracy and writing mechanics.   This helps improve the overall quality of my work, making it easier to focus on other tasks such as organising and developing ideas.              ...

The Writing Process

The writing process can be tedious ,but with proper planning it can be made fun. The bulk of work when writing is done in the planning phase. It is being said that 70% of the time spent writing is actually spent planning. This is rather interesting, because before doing this course I often wondered why even if writing topics within my business subjects seemed to fall within the interests of students they always seemed not to know what to write. This course highlighted that lack of proper planning can prevent students from writing effective pieces. I am not currently an English teacher, but on my return to the classroom, information on the writing process and how to effectively use it to engage students in writing would be an asset. I am excited to see results from use of this and excited to get my students writing again. Also, this course would assist me at home with my children. Being a mother of mostly boys, getting them to write is rather difficult since they hardly want to read ...
